Three Simple Rules Before You Leave for the Airport
Since 13 January 2026, all Vietjet domestic flights have checked in at Hall A, Terminal T1.
T2 serves international departures and arrivals at Tan Son Nhat.
Domestic services by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, VASCO, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines and Sun PhuQuoc Airways operate from T3.
Confirm whether you need T1, T2 or T3 before selecting your destination in a ride-hailing app. T1/T2 and T3 have different access routes, and arriving at the wrong terminal can add an unnecessary transfer.
Both Terminals Are on the Truong Son Side of the Airport
T1 and T2 sit next to each other on the airport’s traditional access side, with Truong Son Street as the main approach. If you are travelling from central Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Nhuan or the Nguyen Van Troi area, this route will feel relatively familiar.
Nam Ky Khoi Nghia / Nguyen Van Troi → Phan Dinh Giot → Truong Son → follow signs to the correct T1 or T2 drop-off area.
Travel via Bach Dang – Truong Son and continue according to airport signs for your terminal.
Do not rely on one fixed “shortcut”. Traffic management around the airport can change, so follow live navigation and on-site road signs.
If you have light luggage, moving between T1 and T2 is generally easier than transferring to T3. With large suitcases, children or limited time, however, getting dropped at the correct terminal from the start is still the better option.
T3 Has Its Own Access via Tran Quoc Hoan – Phan Thuc Duyen – Road 18E
Terminal T3 is not located beside the T1/T2 departure halls. If your flight uses T3, enter “Terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat Airport” as your ride-hailing destination and follow the traffic guidance for the new terminal.
Do Not Automatically Follow the Old Route into Truong Son
From central Ho Chi Minh City, a common approach is via Nguyen Van Troi – Phan Thuc Duyen – Road 18E into T3. Depending on your starting point, live navigation may direct you through other connecting roads around Tran Quoc Hoan.
Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Nguyen Van Troi → Phan Thuc Duyen → Road 18E → Terminal T3.
Cong Hoa, Hoang Hoa Tham and roads connecting to Tran Quoc Hoan are important approaches to T3. Use real-time navigation.
Check the correct floor and designated pick-up area shown by the airport or your ride-hailing app. Ride-hailing pick-up points may differ from drop-off areas.
If You Arrive at the Wrong Terminal, Use the Free Shuttle Bus Rather Than Trying to Walk to T3

Pick-up point around columns B15–B16, Lane B.
Pick-up point around columns A17–A20, Level 1.
Approximately 04:30–00:30, with buses around every 15–20 minutes according to airport information.
The airport also provides airside shuttle services for certain transit passengers who have already completed the required procedures. If you are connecting between flights, follow airline and airport staff instructions rather than leaving the terminal area on your own.
Four Quick Checks Can Significantly Reduce the Risk of Missing Your Flight
Airlines can update terminal information. Check your ticket, airline app or latest notification before booking your ride.
This can make the process more predictable, although passengers with checked baggage still need to reach the bag-drop or counter before the airline cut-off time.
Counter closing times vary by airline. Given Ho Chi Minh City traffic, arriving around 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight provides a practical buffer in many cases, but airline guidance should always take priority.
Especially for T3, confirm the terminal with your driver before the car sets off.
An Airport-Area Stay Is Most Useful When Your Flight Schedule Shapes the Trip
If you have an early-morning departure, arrive in Ho Chi Minh City late at night or frequently travel between the airport and downtown, staying in Tan Binh or Phu Nhuan can make your schedule easier to manage. Keep in mind that “near the airport” does not mean every property is equally convenient for T1/T2 and T3; actual travel time still depends on the terminal and traffic.
A Reliable Stop before or after Your Flight
CityHouse offers several TERA stays across Tan Binh and Phu Nhuan, including Kim Nguyen, Emerald, CityLights, Villea and The S. Each suits a slightly different travel rhythm, from early departures to business trips that need access to both the airport and the city centre.

All Vietjet domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat currently check in at Hall A, Terminal T1.
Domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines Group currently use Terminal T3. However, passengers should still check the terminal information on their ticket before every flight.
Their domestic flights currently operate from Terminal T3.
Terminal T2 serves international flights at Tan Son Nhat.
Yes. The airport provides a free landside shuttle connecting all three terminals, operating approximately from 04:30 to 00:30 at intervals of around 15–20 minutes.
It is not recommended. T3 is separated from the T1/T2 complex and has its own road access. The shuttle bus, taxi or ride-hailing service is a more suitable option.
Get the Terminal Right First, and the Rest of the Journey Becomes Much Easier
Before leaving your accommodation, check three things: the airline, the flight number and whether you need T1, T2 or T3. A few minutes of preparation can save an unnecessary transfer at Ho Chi Minh City’s busiest airport.
